This week, Centre-UB held its first annual Celebrating Research and Impact event which showcased the many achievements of our 2024 cohorts of PhD students and Early Career Research Fellows. We were also joined by one of Behavioural Research UK (BR-UK)’s PhD students. Our students gave 5-min lightning talks on their PhDs while our fellows displayed the impact achieved this year through a poster. In collaboration with their partner organisations, the new behavioural insights being developed and the positive impact being achieved by this future generation of behavioural reseachers is broad and far-reaching.

We were also joined on the day by Professor Tom Webb (University of Sheffield and BR-UK), who gave a brilliant keynote presentation on “Using Behavioural Research to Tackle Obesity Among Companion Animals”, and other members of our Advisory Board who joined in judging the presentations and posters with our colleagues from the Economic and Social Research Council.

Winner of our Best Poster award was Dr Zhaozhang (Zoe) Sun, and winner of our Best Presentation award was Matthew Hutchinson. Congratulations to you both!

Here are some of our Fellow’s posters that were shared on the day:
