We have listed some of the key reasons below as to why we think you should become a partner of CENTRE-UB:
1. Be part of the national capability building initiative.
Our world is facing many challenges and human behaviour is key to many of these. We need to equip our researchers, working inside or outside academia, to be able to address these challenges. Organisations directly tackling these challenges are best placed to know what sort of knowledge and skills these researchers need and are experts in behavioural research too. You can contribute to this national initiative by:
- Hosting a PhD student on placement.
- Hosting a fellow during their fellowship.
- Contributing to our training program for students, fellows and for other researchers already working in the public or private sector.
- Partnering with us to seek charitable funding for research positions in your organisation, working to enhance outcomes for your communities.
- Co-producing a roadshow where we bring CENTRE-UB to your organisation.
2. Ensure meaningful research is done that is directly relevant to your organisation.
Research, even if sorely needed within an organisation, is always trumped by operational need. CENTRE-UB provides a way for you not only to provide an excellent training opportunity for a student or fellow, but for you to work with them in creating a research program that’s relevant to your organisation. All of our studentships are co-produced with partners like you.
3. Translate excellent behavioural research into something tangible that your organisation can use.
CENTRE-UB expects its students and fellows to be engaged in the highest quality research; however, we also expect that this is translated into tangible outputs for partners, wherever possible. In fact, the fellowships include at least 25% of the fellow’s time being spent on such activities (which we call “impact”). Our students and fellows can learn a lot about research in practice by being given the opportunity to work on, or co-design, projects where they also co-create with their partner an output of real-world use. Not only is this an important part of their professional development, it’s also hugely rewarding and motivating. In addition to being part of high quality research, the partner also gets something they can use in their operations.
4. Access our masterclasses
In recognition of the contribution made by partners who host students and fellows and/or contribute themselves to our training portfolio, we offer complimentary access to our masterclasses. Masterclasses are standalone workshops, that take place over 1-2 hours. They are interactive and focus on the application of behavioural research skills or knowledge in ‘real world’ scenarios or settings.
